Open-air museum in Puńsk – is a complete rural farm from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. It contains among other things a dwelling house, a barn, a shed, a granary and a well with a crane. Among the many exhibits we will see, among others: the old items related to farming, tools, folk crafts and other monuments of folk art.
Józef Vaina Ethnographic Museum in Puńsk– a museum created by the teacher and folklore enthusiast Joseph Vain in 1956. The rich collections accumulated by Vain for years, consist of, among others, textiles, footwear, furniture, dishes, old coins and books, ancient agricultural and shoemaker’s tools, artifacts conected with game and hunting, beekeeping gear and many other regional treasures.
Prussian- Yotvingian settlement in Oszkiny – located near Puńsk, a stone – wooden complex faithfully imitating the old fortified town of Yotvingians, built by a history enthusiast Piotr Łukaszewicz. You can take here a peculiar journey in time and space, to see and feel how Yotvingians lived over 1,000 years ago, and at the same timeYou can have a good time in a beautiful natural environment.
“Galadusys” Rope Park – The rope part located on the Lake Gaładuś, will provide plenty of excitement and adrenaline to all lovers of active tourism and outdoor recreation. The trails are adapted to the age and skills of the guests, so both children and adults will have fun there.
Stańczyki – historic railway viaducts located among Romnicka Forest abandoned sfor about 60 years, of a long disused railway line between Goldap – Żytkiejmy once constituting an attraction for amateurs of bungee, today attracting visitors with their unmistakable charm.
Wigry- Camaldolese former monastery complex – located in the Wigry National Park, is one of the most valuable monuments of Suwalki. The picteresquely located monument is a trace of the seventeenth century monks. They were hermits living in hermitages – i.e. small secluded houses, which are presently rented to tourists. Tour around this facility, including the crypt in the basement of the monastery, is free.
Castle Hill in Jegliniec (9 km from Puńsk) – a mountain bearing the traces of a Yotvingian settlement of XI-XIII centuries and numerous assaults on the fortified settlement, among others the Teutonic-Yotvingian war. From the top there is a view of the located at its foot traditional wooden buildings, beautiful, dotted with hills area and the Polish-Lithuanian border crossing in Budzisko.

The ski slope in Szelment – located above a beautiful lake of Szelment Wielki, on Mount Jasionów (252 m above sea level) winter sports resort and active tourism (including paintball and minigolf) allows you to enjoy the stunning natural beauty at any time of the year.
Canoeing on the Black Hańcza and Rospuda – One of the advantages of the Black Hańcza, which is a left tributary of the Neman River of 141.7 kilometers in length is calm waters, developed infrastructure, picturesque landscapes of the Wigry National Park and unforgetable atmosphere. Directly from the Black Hańcza, the canoe trail leads straight to the Augustow Canal. Rospuda flows from the Black Lake and ends running in the lake of Rospuda, the length of the kayaking trail is 68 km, and the it takes approx. 5 – 6 days to complete. The river reminds, in some places, a mountain river, the surrounding nature is wild and picturesque and quiet and in contrast to the run down the Black Hańcza, canoeing here requires effort.
Geological and landscape reserve Głazowisko Bachanowo – largest accumulation of boulders in Poland. There are about 10 thousand boulders in this complex, residue after melting the ice sheet, specifically after b washing away the layer of accummulated clay by the water.
Wigry National Park – one of the largest national parks in Poland, in which one can see hundreds of species of plants and animals, including many under strict protection. A large attraction are rides by Wigry narrow-gauge railway with a length of 10 km, transporting tourists along the lake Wigry, allowing to enjoy the lovely views and proximity to wildlife, including the singing of many species of birds.
Suwalki Landscape Park – the first created park of this type in Poland. In this park, Andrzej Wajda shot many scenes for “Pan Tadeusz”. You can see here inter alia: hanging bog located by the lake of Jaczno, the Hańcza lake and 24 other lakes, boulders once deposited by glaciers and several mountains which are attractive viewpoints.
Aquapark in Druskininkai (Lithuania) – One of the best climatic and balneology spas in Europe, located only 47 km from the Polish border. One of the many attractions of this complex (including 20 saunas, numerous swimming pools, a river of water currents, waves, waterfalls) is an extreme slide “Adrenaline”:
Festival of Barn Theatres in Puńsk – a festival, during which the performances of Polish and Lithuanian theater groups are presented on the threshing floor in the barn museum, which perfectly fits their rural subjects.
Pompously celebrated festivals, including Zielna – Feast of Bread, Milk and Honey, Midsummer,church fair. During these celebrations there are numerous concerts, ceremonies, letting wreaths on the water, looking for the fern flower and fair of folk artists, where you can savor and purchase local delicacies or watch a large selection of arts and crafts.

Mushroom picking and collecting forest undergrowth
In the forest located next to the house and the lake , nature treats generously the mushroom pickers. You will find there not only bay boletes , or boletes , but also a rarity worth the most discerning palates : saffron milk caps .
In addition to mushrooms, you can come back from a walk with a handful of strawberries , wild raspberries , blackberries and blueberries . Perfect for homemade dumplings with fruit, loved by the children and reminding the adults about the flavors of their childhood.
